Roland, I use a Wera PH0 to unscrew the mount and a Wera 0,25x1,2 to unscrew the little set screw on the inner lens barrel of some Ai lenses to fully disassemble them for maintenance.

Btw, at www.micro-tools.de they also sell the helical #10 grease needed for lubrication and the spanners to open up the lens retention rings.

Here's the full set at work, my little 50/1.8 Japanese pancake needed a grease job in 2012 (Chris bought this lens last week btw):
Cheers,

I am afraid that electrical solder is pretty weak.  It is not likely to bond or solder well (or at all) to stainless either.

Given what you say about the slots, better to first try making a new slot.

Thanks Hugh.
That was my first port of call anyhow, as it's the easiest(no need to wait for glue to dry, or bring out soldering gear .. etc).

I find electrical solder is actually quite strong tho(and why i had the idea).
Many times when I solder wires together .. forget that I had to remember something and hence cut the wire again to fix it .. if I try to cut the solder with any weak cutters(pliers or something) .. they are quite hard to effect the cut at the solder.
That is a slightly weak tool has a hard time cutting through the solder.

Anyhow .. one day i'll do the dremel thing.
