Opening ceremony with emphasis on women's sufferage (women did not get the right to vote until 1920 in the US). Era represented 1890.
-
some vintage base ball
-
And finally some odds and ends shots:
For those not a fan of the monochrome processing I've done here - the color versions:

Very good story, and a very good idea to make it BW

Andrew, the images look amazingly well processed for the concept, especially the first batch. Thank you for sharing!
I wonder if I'm seeing the rolling shutter effect in the image (DSC_9741) capturing the moment at which the batter hits the ball?

I believe not. The kind of wood used for the bat bends more so than a modern wood bat. The shutter speeds used were between 1/2000 and 1/4000 on the D500.

Andrew, these are excellent. They have to be B&W ;) and really nice treatments. I guess you could 'colour' them ( current craze) but that would be a heck of a lot of work.
Thanks for sharing. Even the Continuity Check is good. Just the guy in modern cap and shades in the Suffragettes shot :)

Yeah, wish I could have controlled the crowd, but could not. The sufferage sign holders were only on one section of the opening ceremony. I could have gone in and removed them, I guess.

Excellent photography and perfect processing to match the purported 1890s time-slot!
This series should all be printed as at least 20" x 16"s and hung permanently in a Ohio museum.
(Yes it would be well worth while to clone out those annoying bye-standers in their baseball caps and sunglasses!)

lovely, Andrew!!!

I might just do that once I have the time.

I don't know why I missed your post, but I did..
Brilliant series and post-processing!

Great work all around. Compositions are pleasant and interesting, and the PP is pitch perfect. I'm sure the organizers would love to get their hands on your work.
-
I really like this B&W treatment. Congrats.

Thoroughly enjoyable series........wonderful!

I missed the post until today too. Echoing all of the above, including the question about the bat, thanks for answering :)
