Title: Playing with the 500mm Reflex in New York
Post by: atpaula on March 31, 2019, 13:34:39
I don't want spend 4k in the new 500mm f/4 PF and it is not available here yet, so I decided to play with my Reflex latest edition.
Took these yesterday and the day before. Some with the Z6 and some with the D5.
Thank you for looking.

You obviously know how to apply a long lens in the city. Kudos. The background rendition might not be to everyone's liking, but so be it. A forbearer of what the 500/5.6 PF can do for you with the added benefit of a less busy background too.

Yes, but 4k is kind of steeeeep. I'm saving for the Noct.
I confused the maximum aperture f/5.6.
The PF is really sweet. I tried it at the Photokina and it is extremely light.
Thank you and Fons for the comments.

You went Papparazzi-mode? Great faces you found. Love the series!

I've never seen such good results with the 500/8. The upward-looking girl is my favorite here. BTW what's your typical keeper rate with the lens? Does it feel more comfortable with the Z6, especially when using the stabilizer?

Great results Aguinaldo. It made me look up the lens on e-bay  ::)

I find extra interesting the black guy in the traffic. Those round lights adds to the image.

Stunning images with this difficult lens.  The color is amazing.  Last but not the least, the facial expressions captured here are precious.

Great series. You show how good this lens is, especially with the portraits.

impressive pictures on the street walk and you handle the 500 mm Reflex very well.
Selecting the background very carefully is in my opinion an important detail for the overall impression of your capture.
Some over expressed blurring in the B.G. can make a unpleasant nausea with the reflex ,other while with a neutral B.G. the picture can be very pleasant.

Sorry for the delay to answer.
For the moving subjects I miss a lot of pics, but it is not a problem with a good memory card. The Z6 has a wonderful grip and is so light, always better than the D5 to work with (except for the green dot and battery).Soon I'll abandon the DSLR, I think.
Thank you all for the feedback.
