Following up on tradition, the NG Crew and consorts flock together here in the Netherlands shortly before the PhotoKina event. Jan Anne's farm is the natural centre for our activity.
The maestro himself is deeply concentrated.

i just live across the river 8)

Last night we started to gather an medication was needed,,, Keeping to the doctors orders, pills should be swallowed and flushed down with liquid :o Also had some flight time with the Drone, and an aha moment happened when opening the files,,, a quick search on Wiki revealed the definition of 1" Inch sensor - As in Mavics marketing department definition,,,
The common 1" circular video camera tubes had a rectangular photo sensitive area about 16 mm diagonal, so a digital sensor with a 16 mm diagonal size was a 1" video tube equivalent. The name of a 1" digital sensor should more accurately be read as "one inch video camera tube equivalent" sensor. So not was I was looking for, but super nice controls a great experience as well, one can really have great fun with the little thing ;)

No wonder we drink Grolsch.
-
Hmmm,, great minds think alike,,,
This was shot without Birna knowing,,, framing and all,,, :o ;D Only difference is vantage point 8)
-
Seems like you're having a lot of fun... ;D
-
Brina did you get your z7?
-
It's around the next corner. I have learnt to be patient. As soon as I get the invoice from nikon nordic I'll pay and the camera & gear should arrive shortly thereafter.
-
Grolsch used to be a great beer back in the 1980ies when it was still brewed according to the Bavarian Beer Cleanliness Act of 1615. They changed the recipee but it is still a very nice drink today

Of course there's some inevitable chipping. This time my 50-135/3.5 AIS.
It was a breeze for Dr. Lens this time. ;)
-
And of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
Lens 50-135/3.5 @ 92mm (programmed).
-
Lovely work ! Have fun there !
-
Enjoy! ;)
-
Nijmegen had the latest Kodak (sic) cameras on display. Even the model claiming to have 90X zoom from 22 to 1980 mm ....

Later that night, Erik took on the challenge of converting an ancient Piersker 400 mm f/4.5 from the early '50s to F-mount. The tripod mount also was in need of a repair.
Trust Erik. Here is the lens, complete with CPU (of course) on my UV camera, a modified Nikon D3200 fitted with internal Baader U "Venus" filter.
-
Nice evening with burgers, scarponi dessert, sunset and yet another vintage lens chopped and chipped :o 8)
-
Wow, intriguing images, Erik!
Which lens did you use for the last image?
-
Thanks ;) They are all three shot with 50mm AF-D f/1.4 made in Japan version, the vintage look is PP ;) 8)

Great variation! The 50mm lens rocks! :D

Nice work indeed. Even nicer to think that these old timers (and Dr Klaus Schmit's projection lenses) will not end up in land fill any time soon. Kudos to all for upgrading these old timers and repurposing them and keeping them relevant.

Erik's missed balla Leica with 1/35mm
no hands on...

125x seems fast enough to "capture tomorrow"???? stupidest claim in quite a while ...
-
Because the NL crew fled out of Germany fast we did not make it to a brewery outlet. Instead I joined Werner for a visit to a Pharmacy, a "coffee pharmacy"
-
The Z7 metal frame.
-
My main goal today was to handle the 500/5.6E PF
At the NPS press centre we had lots of time to try everything out and got a coffee as well.
First image is with the Df and 500PF
Second is Jakov testing the 500PF with his D750.
Df and 35/1.4 N

Coolest guy at the Z try-out.

The Z7 metal frame.
And all the other stuff inside the camera

Frank F is a bosom friend of Jakov's.

Photokina Group Selfie!!!

A traditional image with one replacement, Chris instead of Bjørn.
-
Of course I took a shot of lovely Birna!
-
Great fun ;) We had a very nice visit to NPS for a hands on try of the Z7 and 500mm as well as the Z7 with FTZ with PC-E 19mmAlso the coffee was great 8) All in all a very pleasant meetup and visit!
-
Selfie with assistance of Jan Anne's ever-present sunglasses. And Frank peeking into the frame as well.
-
JA, was generous to borrow me his 200-500/5.6.
My goal was to test its handling and sharpness.
It is a very capable lens, i must admit!

Jakov, long time! I miss your work. Thanks for sharing this!

Thank you, Paco! You are so kind!

Purchasing gems in Delft 8)
-
Great shot Jakov! 8)
-
The encapsulated feeling of Delft: duckweeds on the canals, and bicycles.
-
More duckweeds with my chipped 50-135/3.5 AIS
-
Erik, i am impressed how you processed the images into one image on your phone!
Birna and Chris made great minds think alike images. Will exhibit my take at a later stage.
(edit: now)
-
One depicting the beginning of autumn on the canals of adorable Delft.
(a self-portrait including Erik)
-
Casting my shadow on the world,,,
Wonderful crisp and clean 8)
-
The one who casts a shadow on the world needs to be nourished!

Erik's new 45/2.8 GN is splendidly portrayed with assistance of the Sigma fish. :D
Erik of course CPU-modified the GN in the late evening hours, and now is doing an AI conversion and CPU-upgrade on the 24/2.8 I purchased concomitantly in Delft.
-
The shoe series of The Hague.
-
Comrade Erik, captured by the just modified 24/2.8 NC Nikkor. For me, an unbelievable time travel back to the late '60s, when I shot the very same lens design on my Nikon F. What changed over all this time? Only the 'D' as in Nikon Df. (and being at comrade Jakov's place, of course).
-
A pair of planets.
-
One simply has to love the colourful details seen everywhere in The Hague.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed the company of my comrades in the past few days.
Today was a lovely sunny day and my Sigma 8mm f/3.5 circular fish-eye was once a gain a joy to use!
-
Birna, so the Bride rides a bike to the Wedding??? I've always said weddings are getting over the top expensive :) . A lovely image. Love the muted, but vibrant, colours and composition.
-
Wonderful images! Here are a couple of my impressions of and with the Nikkor 45mm f/2.8 GN,,, 8) The rendering is smooth and with interesting Bokeh wide open, completely lacking CA or fringing! It's quite useful and at the limit of what one can actually operate,,, The AiP version is simply to tiny for me to operate safely.
-
Oh, Delft is, along with Barcelona, one of the cities I want to visit. The birth place of Jan Vermeer...
Jakov, thank you for the post!
-
More The Hague impressions.
-
Erik, great job, as always!
-
Akira, for you :D
-
Akira, for you :D
Oh, yes! Thank you, Birna!
Actually, this very "Girl with a pearl earring" came to Japane right after it had been restored. Of course, I didn't miss the opportunity!
-
Fantastic report, and super pictures.
-
A pair of planets.
The second one looks like planet Kiwi.
-
A Drone Group Selfie from yesterday morning, just before the gang left for The Hague.
Couldn't join myself as I had to visit a 50th birthday party of a close friend on the other side of the country.
-
A Team of cuties :D

Not my Audi ::) 8)
On a side note the 45mm GN is the latest NIKKOR.C version so multicoated and 7 aperture blades which could explain my findings regarding rendering and Bokeh behaviour on the D850, the early lenses cold behave differently,,, the above samples are shot mostly wide open, at f/5.6 or at f/8 where the aperture opening is completely circular by design.
The lens came with the latest version of the dedicated lens hood HN-4 without the iconic Nikon F engraving, but still the very industrial great looking and extremely functional shape ;)
It's a very inconspicuous lens to shoot, people seems not to be bothered about it at all in the streets :)
