I see this picture series as good in sharpness, capturing some of the amazing flight phases a Grey heron offers.
For my taste it is a bit too contrasty, maybe too much done during post-processing or more likely just because the light is too harsh. Choosing a different day of time might be able to improve it.

Too harsh light is right, I never had contrast.
As for time of day, lager waders indulge us only in the
morning and the shooting spots are limited in terms
of accessibility.
