I use this more for my RF lenses. :o :o :o
I just calibrated my Zeiss using this method. it's now a Zeiss, it used to be a scheisse.

It's been a long time since I had to do this but it's something I did more informally several times in the past using a focus screen from a disassembled camera (A DOA Petri I think). In this case I was not fine tuning lenses, but just checking that they were together right after disassembly.

some people prefer ground glass for this :o :o :o
i have bad eye sight so I just use a prism ::)
