Thank you for asking Amando, No worries, I am fine, it’s an annual, publication sent to Medicare beneficiaries in the US. All US Citizens over 65 are eligible.
I was playing with my very underused Sigma 150 APO Macro lens and liked the image. I need to use it much more often.
Excellent contributions by everyone so far. Looking forward to seeing more.

Yesterday cazught me by surprise, when an unexpected package arrived ... I did in fact support a kickstarter project so long ago that I did not think they would ever make it to a product, but they did. Because I did not believe in success anymore I now have:
1) my old i1display 2 with Eye-One Match 3 by GretagMacbeth
2) my recently aquired Spyder 5 Elite with the accompaining software
3) The new globell color suite that just arrived
As I have no time to test the solutions currently (only for a group shot), I will stay with the GretagMacbeth for the moment, the Spyder Calibration is obviosly off....

Bjørn, we are entering the flowerless season, and these are the only ones to stand out around here, both in terms of the flourishing flower and the color. I also had my venerable CRT which was of no use..
John, the orange sun was caused by the haze or dust particles in the air, I guess? I like the atmosphere.

James: Impressive. Is the snake behind glass or is she not dangerous??? With the 500D the subject distance is quite small...
Thank you, Frank.
The snake is not dangerous and is not behind glass. I used a setup similar to what is shown in the attached picture (not sure why it is sideways...). Basically, I have a hiking staff onto which I have mounted the red threaded "ball" (made by Manfrotto), attach a pair of little legs to make a sort of bipod arrangement, and use a Really Right Stuff BH-25 ballhead to hold the D800 (I had the ballhead on the top rather than out in front as shown.). I put the camera in Live View and use an MC-30 cable remote to release the shutter. (I also pop into the menu to allow the shutter button to activate focus...usually I use back-button autofocus, but that's no good here.) By maneuvering the far end of the hiking staff around I can position the camera where I want it and watch the screen to get the focus point where I want it. You can also zoom the live view image in a bit. To avoid focusing on the tip of the snake's nose I had to sort of catch the eye with the edge of the focus area; a bit tricky, but I pulled it off.
Once I get a D850, the focus shift mode would be a nice help; not so much to get images to stack, but to just focus on the tip of the nose and sweep the focus through...call it focus bracketing.
Of course a wireless remote would be nice...perhaps even the much-maligned SnapBridge could get it done.
I also took pictures with the AF-S 20mm f/1.8G (which focuses nice and close) by the same basic method. I will be ordering the new 8-15 fish which would also be a nice option.
Since this all happened on my front porch, it was easy to run inside and toss all this together; my dream is to use the same approach (perhaps with the extension cord to the MC-30!) on a nice rattlesnake, like the one in this post:
http://nikongear.net/revival/index.php/topic,5572.msg89388.html#msg89388 (http://nikongear.net/revival/index.php/topic,5572.msg89388.html#msg89388)
(I would try the fisheye last, but I would try it!) The staff and cable give some personal standoff distance. (The same staff + bipod arrangement works well as a tripod against boulders, trees, or the ground...handy for a hike.)
Jim

John, the orange sun was caused by the haze or dust particles in the air, I guess? I like the atmosphere.
Thanks, Frank. Yes it was a combination of the hurricane Ophelia, causing fearce southern winds combined with Sahara-dust and the effects of the fires in Portugal.

It's such a great camera Frank although i didn't thought that i would use the touch/flip screen much i notice that in the field i use it all the time, shooting action sport (kids soccer) a lot i must say it is such an improvement on the D810 and for the Lee system, my main hobby is landscape and i use it often the Pol. and sometimes the big stopper when i want the motion in the sky/sea.
atm i am looking for a good macro lens to photograph the products that i sell (nuts and dried fruits).

Yesterday I went to the Botanical Gardens of the Bonn University to catch some fall colors with my Sinar, Schneider APO Digitar N°48 and the D850 as a Digital back.
I am absolutely stunned and blown away by the image quality the D850 has to offer. I shoot a whole tree and still get a macro like resolution of single leafs!
My only enemy yesterday was wind and subject movement in general, so I had to overshoot significantly and it is a PITA to sort through and throw out the shots destroyed by subject movement.
Yes, most of the shots are "good enogh" for most purposes, but my idea is to make them work as a whole AND as a 100% crop which means a lot more work, concentration, energy and time.
right click the image "view image" and zoom to 100% ... and think that this is significatly downscaled

Frank, persimmon trees are lovely this time of year. The D850 seems to really capture the detail and color too. Sry easy to blow out the red channel with those leaves. I’m sure I’ll post some of my persimmon tree over the next month or two.

Thank you. I am still in the training phase to get the most from the D850. Of course it is easier to get the maximum from her in a studio situation were light & subject movement are fully controlled and ISO=64 , yet the potential of her outdoors with the Sinar are stunning. I always dreamt of a setup that delivers the whole tree AND the single leaf at the same time. I got that now and will practice until it shows much better than is already shows in this shot.

Thanks Frank. Detailed shots with the Schneider Apo.

Another Beautiful Evening at the Pier Cafe (https://flic.kr/p/YQ38Um)
Alas, the Pier Cafe is closing for good. The old fishing pier is in need of very expensive repairs and the owners have sold the property to an adjacent retirement and elderly care complex.

Yesterday I went to the Botanical Gardens of the Bonn University to catch some fall colors with my Sinar, Schneider APO Digitar N°48 and the D850 as a Digital back.

Beautiful and most impressive detail Frank! Between an upcoming birthday and Christmas, there may very well be a D850 in my future :)

Unfortunately he died this morning.
My condolences.
I once had six cats. Some died some moved in at neighbours, the rest I gave away when my son developed an allergy...
Life goes on, we are always in a flow equilibrum and the memories, esp. the good ones, make an important part of our personalities...

Interesting Ebay find: Andreas.
He bought my beloved 1.4/24G (in the picture on his D810) and because he seemed nice and did not live far away, I visited him for personal delivery, a camera walk in the park and a coffee in a little hipster place!

There are different bonds with cats, I had the same relation as a dog owner.
As a very young kitten he came to me during a difficult divorce period in 2012 so I had an emotional band with him.
I posted this earlier in 'Self Portraits'.
