An ordinary, somewhat drab Los Angeles neighborhood, with an unusual visitor...
-
looking at your portfolio, airshow?
-
On the way to the Museum IIRC?
-
It looks as if the shuttle landed on the highway out of the blue and stopped at the crossing. The image feels a bit surreal, and I love it!

On the way to the California Science Center museum.
Trees had to be cut down, utility and traffic signal poles removed, and the Endeavour occasionally had to be rotated while moving to get around certain obstacles along the street route.
I'll post a few more shots later when I get back to the "photo computer"

Looks as if this was shot from a balcony.

someone is in trouble...

1.Here's a 300mm shot of the Endeavour starting to move East along Manchester Ave. All the trees in the center median of Manchester Ave were cut down to facilitate the passage of the shuttle. The organizers promised that they'd replant all the trees that were cut down, but I haven't been back to check.
2.The Endeavour moves through the narrowest part of it's journey, a residential neighborhood.
3. An overenthusiastic worker, drunk with power, destroys a tree that could merely have been bent over and held down, as the shuttle passes by. Nothing was allowed to touch the former spacecraft.
here's a link to the some of the photo coverage by the local newspaper photographers.:http://framework.latimes.com/2012/09/19/endeavour-photos/#/0 (http://framework.latimes.com/2012/09/19/endeavour-photos/#/0)

Great photos, thanks for showing them.

Great documentary shots. In the first one, I love how life seem to go on as usual even though that's most certainly not the case.
