The Hague, D200 + 16/3.5 fish-eye
« on: July 03, 2015, 20:04:17 »
Dear All,

Today I had to pick up my El Presidente from the mechanic, my wind-screen fluid pump died, and since I am going on a long three week holiday with my kids, I needed to be able to rinse my wind-screen. I was a bit sad to find out that the repair would set me back 200 bucks, but one is El Presidente.

On my way to the mechanic I decided to go back to my old love the 16/3.5 fish-eye mounted on my semi-IR D200.
I didn't wait long to point it into the sun (I am obsessed with flare at the moment), so the first image is right outside my door step.
The following ones were made at the train station, which is never-endingly being renovated for about 5 years now. Still not completed...

I hope you like the images. I even made some of them BW because of all the lovely BW photos that have been posted here recently!
Thank you all for the inspiration :)

Regards, Jakov

Never underestimate the power of a D200, when it hosts a 16 fisheye and Jakov is on the prowl :D

Interesting structure Jakov, the first image has crazy colours but is very striking, I like.
The second two photos are equally interesting but in different, more subtle ways, fascinating shadows and light!
El Presidente= Audi A8 if I remember rightly, I could be wide of the mark though  :)

Tony is a very nice person too :)
Yes Tony, my 19 year old Audi S8 asks for special attention that he deserves!

My favorite is the first - altho there seems to be some haloing.

(and I envy you the Audi S8.   I drove an Audi A6 turbo for several years and just loved it.)

Lew it seems you are a nice guy too :)
You share the same interests as Erik because you drive the same A6 turbo, you shoot the Sony just like Jan Anne, and you like my haloing image :)

The S8 is true joy of mine and I never mind the costs it entails...

Paco, it turns out that you are a nice guy too :)
Old Nikon SLRs are rather cheap and they can create as they always could great images.
The semi IR means that the filter on my sensors catches visible light above 600nm.

Akira, how is it possible that I didn't state ghostly how nice you are :)

These photos prove that cameras don't matter. The person behind the camera does! I like all the 3 pictures.

Nice pictures! I like the first one the most.
What does semi-IR stand for?
I've got a D200 myself lying around, and don't quite know what do do with it – sell it, let the kids use it?

Look at Anirban and Björn, very nice people indeed :)

It's all up to you Björn. The D200 serves me well as does the D300.

Semi-IR meaning removal of some filter inside? Or half of it?
